For those of you who are keeping track, Ella is now 11lbs, 8 oz.

Ella Meets the Playmat Monkey

This was ella's first encounter with Mister Monkey and his evil henchman, Parrot Guy (whose beak is seen on the right hand side of the photo).




Now, very often the line between good and evil is pretty blurry. Often it's hard to tell who the bad guys are. This is not a problem for Ella; her Super Baby Sense let her know right away that the Monkey was not to be trusted. (This is the same sense that let her know that milk is good and that Mommy is wonderful beyond words.)

Here we see Ella getting ready to put the smack-down on Monkey. Go Ella Go!




Okay, truth be told, Ella was only teasing the Monkey. It just isn't in her to be mean. Yet.

Crawling Soon To A Theater Near You...

So today Kristy, Ella, and I went to see The Bourne Supremacy. This is a remarkable occasion not because of the movie (which was a pretty nice standard spy action suspsense flick, though with too much jittery handheld camerawork, which just served to make me dizzy; however, I digress). The remarkable part was that we set foot in a movie theater at all.

There's this remarkable thing (not sure if it's just Chicago or not) called Reel Moms. The deal is that only folks with babies can go (or really would want to go), thus you don't have to worry about being a "oh my god I can't believe they brought a baby to the movies" type of pariah.

So it was very cool. This was followed up by lunch with some friends. All told, it stacked up to a 5-hour excursion, which is a record for an outing with our cute lil' sprout of a daughter.

YAY!

Which is more fun?

Ella Sings

Lately Ella has been starting to smile more, coo, and occasionally squeal. Which is pretty darn delightful. But the coolest thing lately I've heard is that when Kristy sings "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to her, she joins in.

How cool is that?
