Pond! Pond! Pond!

Here we have a fine example of a toddler in her natural element. The minute she saw Aunt Lynne and Uncle Brad's pond, it hasn't been far out of her mind. Yesterday she finally got a chance to take a really good soak in the pond, and she had a total blast.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Life is good when you're surrounded by people who love you.

Almost Two

This last Sunday we celebrated Ella's second birthday with family here in Utah.

Ella made a valiant attempt to blow out her candles. Her blowing is more suited for the harmonica than extinguishing fires.

However, the cake eating was much more civilized this year.
Swiper the Fox wants to swipe her cake. (This will only make sense to those of you who have been around a toddler in the last few years.)

Hooray for Mommies!

Hey Dad, what will you give me if I can fit both hands in my mouth?

If I had that kind of talent, I could have won a fortune in bar bets.

Happy Face! Sad Face!

Obviously, this is Ella's sad face. Never fear, it's all part of the Sad Face, Happy Face Game; it's very popular among the toddler set these days.

Ella's sentences continue to get more and more complex. Heard recently: "It's time to eat apricots," and "Sam is a little black dog. I love doggies."
