Tonight as I was getting Ella's pajamas on she started tooting. When I teasingly asked her what that strange sound was she replied: My poop is saying "hello."
"Oh, hi there! I was just sitting down to do a few watercolors before I have a bottle and take a nap. Would you care to join me?"
We've discovered that Ella loves to paint. Today's painting session with Mommy lasted a good hour and a half. When given the gentle instruction that soon it would be time to sleep, she replied, "but it's time to paint, Momma!"
There ain't nothin' like losing yourself in a painting.
So the other morning, Ella was eating her breakfast with her hands over her ears. It took me a few minutes to realize she was doing that so she could hear the crunch of her Cheerios better.
p.s. - Overheard: "What was that funny sound? It was my little dinosaur making noise."
Always an innovator, Ella has made use of napkins as a building material to make a stylish yet functional shelter for her animals.
p.s. - it may be a fluke, but Ella counted the fingers on my hand, and actually stopped when she got to five! For the longest time, Ella has been able to count to twenty (give or take), but it was pretty much just a song to her. Now it seems like real counting is starting to take place.
