Almost Two Weeks Old...

The sweetness abounds. I can't even come up with any clever captions. Lucy is one alert kidlet.

New Masthead, Same Great Taste!

So here at the weblog formerly known as The Daily Ella, we've updated the name to reflect the fact that we're now covering both the Ella beat and the Lucy beat. We've also updated the masthead, if you hadn't noticed.

However, never fear, we will continue the same sporadic update style and high standard of journalism you've come to know and love through the years.

I've been trying to come up with a tagline, something like "It's Ella-riffic and Lucy-tastic," but I think something closer to the truth would be "Overdocumenting our daughters since 2004."

Master of Disguise

Special Agent Ella regularly employs her advanced skills in disguise to avoid detection in sensitive situations.

Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy won't indiscriminately dish out chips and fruit snacks to unidentified small tourists with moustaches.

Salmonella

One day a while back, Grandma Charlotte overheard Ella chanting the word "salmonella," over and over.

Naturally she was puzzled about why Ella was talking about food poisoning, and where she picked up that particular word.

The missing piece of the puzzle was black and furry.

Ella adores the cute little doggie who lives next door. Her name is Sam.

"Sam!"
"Sam!"
"Sam and Ella, Sam and Ella!"

Still Waiting

For those of you waiting for news of Lucy's arrival . . .

Not just yet!

Ella sends her lots of love and encouragement.

I've included this out-of-focus picture only because I don't feel the previous picture adequately conveys just how HUGE and UNCOMFORTABLE I am feeling!

Pile o' leaves

One of the upsides to having a big ol' horse chestnut tree in front of your house is that it provides a great opportunity to wallow in the leaves that it drops.
