Is it windy in here or is it just me?

Lucy will not take a bottle. I asked for advice from the lady working at Lactation Station. (Yes, there really is a store called Lactation Station. And it is AWESOME! I wish we’d had one in Chicago when Ella was a baby.)

Anyway, the Lactation Station lady said that after 5 months it was very unlikely Lucy would ever accept a bottle and we should just try a cup.

And it seems to be working! I’m not the one actually giving the cup, so Daddy and Grandma Charlotte may say otherwise. For now she is taking it without the little device that makes it spill proof so it can be a bit messy. But at least some of the milk is going down. She even wants to hold onto the handles. Yay!

When Whorls Collide

So here is the source of Lucy's Hair Control Issues.

A whorl on the left, going in a clockwise direction.

A whorl on the right, going counterclockwise.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: The Perfect Storm.

Don't Say Goodbye To These

So, generally the end of the bath is signalled by the ringing of the kitchen timer, after a negotiation that almost always results in "5 more minutes" (given the chance between getting out of the bathtub now or in 5 minutes).

The moment she hears the timer go off, Ella frantically starts gathering all of the toys under her protective grasp, saying, "Don't say goodbye to these!" (I normally transition to the bath endgame by saying goodbye to her bath toys one by one).

However, lately this saying has been the subject of word play... and now just as often it's:
"Don't say goodbye to bees..."
or "Don't say goodbye to cheese"
or "Don't say goodbye to fleas"
or "Don't say goodbye to sneeze"

Consider the Foot

Let it be known that Lucy has discovered her feet, and she is simply fascinated by them.

Hide and Seek

". . . 7 . . 8 . . 9 . . 10! Ready or not, here I come."

Giggle

"C'mon Lucy, let's go find your sister."

Giggle, giggle

"Hmmm, I wonder where Ella is."

"I'm in the kitchen!"
