Lucy's First Word

Lucy's official first word is, like her sister, "eye". Well, that all depends on if you count "uh-oh" as a word.

However, I'm feeling a little Dan Rather-ish in reporting this story. While I have heard Lucy use it more than once, it isn't consistent every time. So I don't really know if she knows that "eye" is a sound that we make that refers to the part of our body with which we see.

However, I'm more than willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Ella to her teacher today . . .

I was stung by a yellowjacket. It was kind of uncomfortable.

Uh-oh

Lucy’s ability to get into things is growing every day. Of course we were expecting this. However, with Ella we didn’t have to worry about any of these things lying around:

construction paper cut into confetti
toy necklaces
feather boas
crayons or magic markers



At least she hasn't figured out how to get the lids off . . . yet.
