Blessings
Here is the first of what I hope will be many more videos.

Here is Ella saying the blessing we try to remember to say each night before we eat dinner. If we forget, she will shout out "We have to say the blessing!"

Adventures in driving
Lately, any cardboard box of reasonable size that passes through our house must have a steering wheel, stereo, door handles, and license plate drawn in marker.
Lucy can be seen in the back, truly enjoying the ride, unaware that Ella is lost in thought and is definitely *not* paying attention to where they're going.
Luckily our insurance company doesn't have the address to this blog.

Control
“Mama,you have to rock Chilly to sleep. No, hold him closer. Higher. No, you have to make a bed for Chilly. No, on the floor. With THIS blanket. Put his head up here. Like this (points) Here!”
“Hey Ella, you know what he wants. Why don’t you do it?”
“NO! You have to do it. With his head up here, wrap him in his bed! Make the blanket flat! No smaller! Over here!! Around his head, smaller. On his nose. Over there! Noooo!”
“Why don’t you . . .”
“Noooo, YOU do it!!!!!”

Take me to the river, dip me in the water
A freshly-baptized Lucy can be seen here with proud parents. There will be at least one more picture with the fabulous gown that our dear friend Tam made.
Pretty soon Lucy will be grappling with some of the deeper theological questions, like "Is God so all-powerful that he can make a rock so big that even he can't lift it?"
