Fetchingly tousled

The Artiste

So, one of the cool parts of being a dad is not only getting to see your child's drawings, you also get to hear the story as it's being invented and drawn.

This drawing represents a good hour's worth of Ella's stream of consciousness.  I thought it was so cool that I had it printed up on a t-shirt.

I scream, you scream...

Heard recently: "Daddy, after dinner, we should all go to Basket Robbins for ice cream."

Carousel take 2

Okay, I know that we already posted a carousel (or is it merry-go-round?) photo, but I kind of liked this one.

p.s. - Tonight Ella read almost all of Go Dog, Go! to Lucy and me tonight.  She kinda pooped out after page 51, at which point I realized that it's kind of a long book--sort of a War and Peace for the preschooler set.

Wishful Thinking

The other day, Ella's preschool class got the chance to watch the university marching band practice on the day of a big football game. When I picked her up she was excited to tell me all about it . . .

"Ella, did you get to see a marching band today?"

"Yes! They were all girls."

"Really? No boys?"

"Nope."

"What did their uniforms look like?"

"They were all pink."

"Really. And what kind of instruments did you see them play?"

"They were all playing harps."

"So . . . you saw an all-girl, pink wearing marching band carrying harps?"

"Yup!"

Ride a painted pony, let the spinnin' wheel spin....

More State Fair fun...

Lovin' break

Here we see Lucy taking a break from her hectic state fair schedule to enjoy a snuggle with Papa Clint.  Apparently some things *are* more important than taking another spin on the Merry-Go-Round.

Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be cowgirls...

...because at 4 tickets a pop, it will send you to the poor house!

The girls loved riding the ponies at the state fair. And we have pictorial proof...

And, lest you despair, dear readers, we haven't turned into a monthly publication... it just seems that way. There will be more cuteness to come in the following days.

Stay tuned...
