Ella and the Blustery Day

Ella and I went out for a walk right before our big "Oh, joy, winter is back" storm.  As you can see from her hair, it was plenty windy.

It also got very cold very quickly.  Ella expounded on how lucky she was to have pockets and a hood.

Any encounter with gratitude is good, in my book.

The other thing I loved about the walk is how excited she was about the wind... "it's like flying!!!"  I think one of the cool bits of being a parent is that you get to experience the wonder of the world through your child's eyes.

The use of pronouns in Beatles songs

Overheard:

Ella <singing>: Lucy in the sky with diamonds....
Lucy <also singing>: Me in the 'ky with diamonds...

Lucy on the Bed With Towels

Some girls love to be all cozy directly after the bath.  However, sometimes this very same girl may also want to run around without towels.  Or clothes.  And when this happens, you might want to listen for the other daughter saying something like, oh, say, "I just slipped in some water," because it might not be water your other daughter slipped in.

Spring Fever

Ah, to be young and close to a playground...

Now that springtime is here (almost).

This is the playground where Ella will be going to Kindergarten next year. Only a block and a half away!

The girls were yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs, mostly just enjoying the echo. I was just about to get on their cases about it when I realized that it was really the perfect place for that sort of thing. Maybe I'm making a bit of progress as a dad.

Semantics

"Lucy, are you not jealous of my Minnie Mouse doll?"

"Ella, it's not nice to ask if people are jealous of your things."

"I said NOT jealous!"
