A Blessing and a Curse

Modern medicine has made great strides in children’s medicine. Especially how medications taste. I remember very vividly the near panic of having the spoon of Triaminic poised in front of my mouth. (Especially the yellow kind, Ack!) It couldn’t have been easy for my Mom to get that stuff down our throats.

Theses days the challenge is bit different. The darn stuff tastes so good now that Lucy is coming up with nightly reasons why she needs Motrin. Last night she called sadly to me from her bedroom door informing me she had “the bloody foot.”

“I have the bloody foot. I need some mortrin.”

Trying not to laugh, “No you don’t. Please get back in bed.”

“Yes, I have the bloody foot.”

“No, I don’t think so.”

Pause

“Ow, my elbow!”
