Disillusions

Here are the girls with a Toy Story 3 display back in May. We saw this display way before the movie was released.

Of course Ella instantly fell in love with the Unicorn, Buttercup. I mean who wouldn't love a cute unicorn with big blue eyes and heart-shaped nostrils, right?

You can imagine her confusion and disappointment when "Buttercup" turned out to be a BOY.

For those who have not seen the movie (which I highly recommend) here is a short video clip of Buttercup's first on-screen moment.

The gasps and "whaaaa?" sounds coming from Ella's seat during this scene could be heard from the back row.

Overheard while raking...

Ella: "If only nature didn't smell so bad..."

Vocabulary Lesson

Lucy: "That was hilarious!"

Mom: "What does hilarious mean?"

Lucy: "Really expensive."

Mom: "Oh. And what does expensive mean?"

Lucy: "Expensive means weird. So wait, hilarious means weird."


Well at least she's got the logic down.

Ella: " Lucy, can I have a turn some day?"

Lucy: "Yes. You can have a turn yesterday."

Nature Walks

So, as a father I expected to go on lots of walks with my kids around the neighborhood. What I hadn't really anticipated was that they would be dressed in dance leotards and tights.
